Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it SNOW!!!

On Wednesday we received an early unexpected Christmas present in College Station...SNOW! It started snowing around 2:45 and snowed, and snowed, and snowed...until almost 9:30! And it STUCK! Charlie had a blast playing in the snow, we had a hard time getting him to come inside. It was exciting and a very rare site for our Texas eyes!

Mimi, Granny, and the silly cap!

Mimi and Granny came to visit Charlie! They came bearing gifts (of course!)... Charlie is wearing his Aggie cap, that is about two sizes too small, but he wouldn't take it off! We tried to tell him he looks very silly, but he insisted on wearing it....to the grocery store, target, the park....we were getting funny stares! But if it makes him happy, he can look like a nerd if he wants to!

Happy Halloween!

I think it is safe to say that Charlie loves Halloween! He loved every minute of it! When your almost two it is hard to grasp a lot of concepts...however, he learned very quickly saying "trick or treat" got him a bucket full of candy! He started off the day at his Halloween carnival at school, where he got to dress up in his costume, play games, go down the "big" slide, get his face painted, pumpkin tattoos, etc, etc...
After school Poppa came over to see him in his monkey costume, he was so excited, making monkey noises and running around the house in his "monkey toes". Later we met up with his Aunt Stacey, Uncle Paul, and cousins Natalie and Nathan at Granny Marty's house. He had a ball trick or treating with the big kids. They showed him the ropes right away and he was a pro by the end of the night!

Family Fun

London, Luke, Kayla, Charlie, and Alex

On Sunday we enjoyed gathering with family to celebrate Carson's baptism. Carson is my brothers little one! Ryan was so honored and excited, he was asked to be Carson's godfather. Most all of the family was able to join us, and the kids had a great time playing together. Here are some pics!

Dewberry Farm II

We traveled back to Dewberry Farm on Sunday. This time we went with Charlie's girlfriend, Katie! Charlie and Katie have played with each other since birth...and Katie's mom, Heather, and I are sure they are destined to be together! Katie's Dad, Matthew works with Ryan and Katie's Mom, Heather works with me! So we always have a great time together! In July Matt and Heather welcomed baby brother, Jack!

I LOVE MY AUNT KAT

Saturday night we went to watch Katy (my sister) dance at halftime. She dances on the drillteam at Cy-Fair high school. Charlie was excited to see Aunt Kat dance and watch football! She made him a shirt to wear....

Pray for Dr. D.

My boss, Dr. KC Donnelly is one of the most caring, down to earth, wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of working for. He greets me with a smile each day and genuinely loves his work and genuinely cares for his staff. He is the department head for the Environmental and Occupational Health Department at The Texas A&M Health Science Center, School of Rural Public Health.
Last year he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his esophagus. He went through treatment(chemo and radiation) last winter and underwent surgery to remove the tumor in February. He came out of the surgery "with no evidence of disease". He as well as his doctor was thrilled with his outcome.
Unfortunately in late June his scans came back showing that the tumor was back and larger in his esophagus and he has five nodules in his liver. He made the tough decision to start another round of rigorous chemo. He has just finished his last treatment for this round and is having all of his scans run again today.
Please keep Dr. D in your prayers for positive results. Pray his chemo is working. He is an amazing person. He loves his family. He loves his life. And his fight with Cancer is going to need all the prayer he can get.

The picture above was taken by Dr. Donnelly in Montana in 2005, I think it is such a beautiful picture!
